Performance and Comparison of Various Regulated Power Supplies Using MATLAB

Vishakha Vaish, Shuchita Singh, Saroj Sinha, Anurag Tripathi

This paper presents a complete MATLAB based modelon performance and comparison of various regulated power supplies. Thisenables a wide range of acceptability of the models for various values of load and for varioustypes of DC-DCconverterswhich include buck,boost,Ćuk,buck-boost converters. An infinite number of converters are possible, and hence it is not feasible to list them all. One can examine all of the possible combinations, to derive the complete set of converters in this class. How the converters are counted can actually be a matter of semantics and personal preference; for example, it can be said that a converter is defined by the connections between its reactive elements, switches, source, and load; by how the switches are realized; and by the numerical range of reactive element values. The uniqueness of the paper lies in the fact thatthese modelsnot only predict the basic ideal behavior of switched-model converters, but also model efficiency andlosses.
