Multiband Microstrip Antenna with Perturbations for Wireless Communication

This paper presents the design of microstrip antenna with perturbations for applications in wireless communication. The antenna shows good performance while resonating at different frequencies. The antenna is designed on size of 30 x 30 x 1.6 mm3. The design is achieved by digging square holes on all sides & at centre of the square patch. Design & optimization was done using Zeland IE3D simulation software. Results of simulation show that at 1.7 GHz, 3.2 GHz& 4.7 GHz, the antenna has a return loss of -25 dB, -27 dB & -14 dB respectively with reasonably good efficiency & directivity.
