ICGICT-213-Internet Based User Service-Mobile Computing Internet Based User Service

SiniJoy P J, Dr. T. Sheela

At the present time, people are using mobile phones for probing necessary data. But the foremost trouble in mobile search is that the communication between the users and search engines are inadequate by the small form factors of the mobile devices. In this research we propose an IBUS (Internet Based User Service) that captures the user’s preferences in the form of concepts by mining their click through data. User’s locations are captured by using the GPS. The user preferences are organized in ontology, which are used to adapt a modified ranking function for rank adaptation of future search results. In our proposed design, the client collects and stores locally the click through data and by mining the click through data the user’s interest is captured by which efficient reranking can be done. The user privacy is maintained without sharing the user preferences with the server. For efficient search the user is provided with two modes thus making the search results more refined and efficient and the option of including the location is also provided. The main aspire is to lend a hand Smartphone users with the best suggestions in the results they look for taking advantage of the Google’s search result ranking GPS tracking and user preferences in an aim to reduce the number of click through the user makes in his Smartphone making Smartphone as smartest phone for its users.
