Unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) are being deployed for many mission critical applications to operate primarily in hazardous environments. In order for unmanned ground vehicles operating at high speeds in rough changing terrain, Rapid hazard avoidance machination will be required. Image segmentation is the technique which is used for UGV Video processing. This process plays important role in object recognition and detection. This process of image segmentation is crucial in many areas such as object detection, recognition task, video surveillance & medical imaging. This paper provides a review of various image segmentation, obstacle detection and avoidance techniques in unmanned ground vehicle.
